Learning with Aphasia

At College and at home

If you have some learning difficulties this is some of the student support most colleges offer:

  • 1:1 additional tuition for literacy, numeracy and study skills.
  • In-class support, such as Notetaking. This will give you more time to complete the course.
  • 1:1 support out of class.
  • Exam concessions: such as extra time.
  • Loan of equipment. Video transcriptions.

If you find classes too hard to follow, or class room settings too noisy, ask for a 'home' tutor.
  • Ship or sheep?

    Audiotape pronunciation course

Very helpful for repeating and enunciating words. Consisting of course book and a set of three tapes. Suitable for working alone or for use in groups. We have tried this course: it is especially helpful for those with problems understanding spoken language.
